Day 28- The Last Ever Post

Well, this is it. The final post of this blog!

I hope those of you who have read it enjoyed my many ramblings. I've enjoyed it too, though it's been hard trying to find programmes to watch.

I hope I've given you a variety of shows during this blog, as that was what I promised when I first started. But most importantly, I hope you've enjoyed it and I hope I've recommended programmes to you that you wouldn't have thought of watching before.

Day 27- Doctor Who

Here it is, the penultimate post, and like I promised, it's not about Tsubasa Chronicle.

No, like the title says it's about Doctor Who. Yes I got to watch it this week and it was another great episode tonight.

I just can't get over how great Matt Smith is as the Doctor. He seems to be the only reason why I watch it every Saturday because he is such a great actor and a great Doctor. He's definately made the character his own.

It's strange how I've never watched Doctor Who before, because I wasn't interested in it, but now can't stop watching it. And I think Matt has something to do with that. He steals the screen in every scene he's in and really makes the show worth watching if you ask me.

Karen Gillian is good too as Amy Pond. In fact all the actors are, but Matt just has that special something about him that makes him great to watch.

Day 26- Tsubasa Chronicle

Yes, I'm afraid it is another anime post. (The 2 more to come won't be, I promise)

I just can't stop watching Tsubasa Chronicle. It's sooooo good! Not as good as Card Captor Sakura, but still brilliant! And I think it helps that the characters from Card Captor Sakura are in it (just with different personalities) because I loved all the characters in that series.

I know I'm not the only person who loves anime. A lot of people do and I know why. It's because they know how to draw. Almost all of the boys - whether they're in an anime series or film - are most of them sooooo gorgeous and unbelievably attractive.

I doubt I'm the only one who thinks this. I mean in this series, Tsubasa Chronicle, Syaoran is absolutely gorgeous and Kurogane's not bad looking either. (Yes, I know they're animated but I don't care! They're so amazingly good looking!)

But I totally loved the Shaoran in Card Captor Sakura. Always blushing when he saw Sakura or when she smiled at him. You don't get many characters who act like that -shy and embarrassed (especially not boys) and that's why his character in Card Captor Sakura will always be my favourite.

Well, let's be honest, it's where I fell in love with him to start with.

Andrea

Note: The picture on the top right is Shaoran in Card Captor Sakura and the picture on the bottom left is of Syaoran (supposedly Sakura and Shaoran's son) in Tsubasa Chronicle.

Day 25- The Simpsons

Well, I'm nearing the end of my blog. Only three days left. I actually can't believe it's almost over.

And what is this post going to be on I hear you ask?

Well, like yesterday I haven't had a chance to watch much TV seeing as I've been at uni all day. But I did manage to catch The Simpsons and it was another great episode from season 3 (yes I know which episodes go with which season because I've got every one of them on DVD up to season 11 and have watched them countless times over and over again.)

But that's the good thing about The Simpsons. You can watch all these "classic" episodes over and over again and never get bored of them. It's hard for me to say this about the new ones. I can only watch them once and even then I don't laugh at many of the jokes. They're not worth watching twice (or at least I don't think so. You may think differently though.) This is only my opinion remember.

Anyway, I hope when they finish showing season 3 on Channel 4, they'll show season 4 and then season 5 etc because it saves me having to get out my DVDs to watch all the "classic" episodes.

And as I'm so into The Simpsons, you're probably wondering what my favourite episodes are. If not, I'll tell you anyway.

I have a number of favourites (most of them from old seasons.)

The first one is "One Fish, Two Fish, Blowfish" from season 2 (the one where Homer thinks he's going to die from food poisoning after eating poison at the new shushi restaurant in Springfield.)

The second is "Marge Be Not Proud" from season 7 (the one where Bart is caught shoplifting the new BoneStorm video game he desperately wants but is not allowed to have) and the third one has to be the one that was on today "Homer Alone" from season 3 (the one where Marge has a nervous breakdown and goes on vacation to Rancho Relaxo leaving Homer to look after Maggie.)

There are many more episodes that I love but I would be here all day if I listed them all.

But the ones I've listed are my all time favourites and I can watch them over and over again and still laugh my head off at the jokes.

Anyway, until tomorrow, when it will be my last ever post (gasp!) I'll leave you with a quote from tonight's Simpsons episode, which always makes me laugh.

"Remember, you can't spell Relaxo without relax"

Day 24- Cardcaptors

Yes, I'm afraid it's another anime post tonight. I've been so busy doing my case study for uni that I haven't really watched much TV today; only this and even then it was only one episode. I wanted to watch more but uni work got in the way, as always! (not fair!)

Anyway, I have seen it before, as I said in my other post. I've watched all 3 seasons and the two films but because I love it so much, I just had to watch the episode that was on today. However, it was in English and so obviously wasn't as good as the Japanese ones I've been watching.

I actually realise now how much the English version has cut out compared to CardCaptor Sakura (the Japanese version) They cut out nearly all the best scenes and the love scenes between Sakura and Shaoron (who, as you already know, I love. They're the cutest anime couple ever!) It was quite disappointing just how much they cut out.

And the voices didn't match the characters either compared to the orginal Japanese version. Sakura and Shaoron are supposed to be kids, so then why do they have adult voices in the English version? Couldn't the voice actors have made their voices suit the characters better and made them sound more like school children?

And then there's the script. They changed that too, but really should have stuck to the Japnese script if you ask me. The lines in the English/American script are downright corny. Or so I think.

If I hadn't watched the original version of CardCaptor Sakura than I probably would have enjoyed Carcaptors. But take it from me, all anime cartoons sound much, much, much better in their original Japanese forms and it's only after watching a whole anime series in Japenese that I realise that.

Day 23- Tsubasa Chronicle (Anime TV series)

Another anime post for you today. If you don't watch anime then you'll have no idea about what I'm talking about, but for those of you who do, then hopefully you will enjoy this post.

I only got into Tsubasa Chronicle after watching all 3 seasons of Card Captor Sakura (yes, the original Japanese version with subtitles, not the English version CardCaptors which you've probably heard of) because I heard it has alot of the characters from Card Captor Sakura in it and I love Sakura and Shaoron from Card Captors.

So, I decided to give Tsubasa Chronicle a go and though it takes place in a whole new world and the characters have different personalities, I'm really hooked on it. The atmostphere is so different to that of Card Captor Sakura and the story line is interesting. There are also a few twists to it too and so far it's really, really good.

For anyone who likes watching anime tv series, I recommend watching Tsubasa Chronicle if you haven't already. And you don't even need to watch all 3 seasons of Card Captor Sakura to understand what's going on. It's a whole different story with the same characters in a different world and it's really good.

If you like anime, you'll enjoy it because I absolutely love anime (as you've probably figured out by now) and I'm totally loving the series at the moment.

Day 22- Glee

Glee seems to be getting better and better every week. I mean the songs are improving (there were quite a few good and easily recognisible ones in tonight's episode) and so are the characters.
It's really like a soap opera with all the deep and poignant character substories and plot lines but with music and dance numbers added in. That's basically what it is in a nutshell.

And though tonight's episode was good, it wasn't as good as last week's, I don't think. I still enjoyed it though and was glad that the others in the Glee club got to sing solos like Kirk, Finn and Puck/Noah.

Kirk even got to sing two solos and talking about Kirk, I can't believe how versatile he is as an actor. I mean, he can change his singing voice from feminine to masculine so easily - as he showed last night - and if that doesn't show talent as an actor, I don't know what does. I was really impressed with his singing and acting this week (but then all of them impress me each week with their amazing acting and singing skills).

I really don't know how they managed to find all these gifted young actors somehow (or even the actors who play the teachers for that matter). They must have gone to the lenghts of the earth to find them because they're all just too good and it's not that easy to find such a talented group of actors who can sing, act and dance all in one.

Day 21- The Simpsons

I just had to watch the Simpsons this afternoon on T4 on Channel 4 just because they're showing the whole of season 2 (which is just one of the many classic Simpsons seasons) and it's still excellent and unbelievably hilarious like it always has been!

Like I said before, the jokes never get old and I was once again laughing all the way through both episodes. But I also realised while I was watching them that why these episodes are classics is because they all have really good plot lines compared to the newer ones and a few of them even have a moral to them. You don't get anything like this with the new episodes and that's why. . . dare I say it? . . . that they're rubbish.

In my opinion I think the problem with the new ones is that they've run out of ideas (and jokes). There are only so many good plotlines you can come up with and I'm afraid they've used them all for Seasons 1-11. They've even run out of good jokes and this is where the newer episodes fail.

I think you'll agree with me when I say they should end it soon. The Simpsons can't go on forever somehow and it's not like it needs to. It's already the longest running cartoon in TV history (beating The Flintstones)!

Day 20- E24

First off, I know I promised I would post about the new Doctor Who episode tonight, but I've been so busy doing my assignments and work for uni that I missed it. And it's not fair, because I had been really looking forward to watching it. But unfortunately uni work comes first (though very soon it won't when I graduate)

So, tonight I'm going to post about the segment on the BBC news channel E24. For those who don't watch it, it stands for Entertainment 24 and as the name suggests, it covers all the recent film, music and entertainment news.

It's a really good programme (or segment) for movie fans, like me, even though it only lasts for fifteen minutes.

Anyway, today they were reporting on the Cannes Film Festival (which started last week or this week. I'm not actually sure when) but it made me think that one day I could be there reporting on the event and talking to all the celebs. And if I work hard and graduate and get a job in the magazine industry then it might actually happen.

But even if it doesn't, one day I'm going to go there just to see what it's like and so I know what I'm missing out on lol!

Friday 14 May 2010

Day 19- Britain's Got Talent

Now, I don't usually watch TV talent shows (because I hate them) but I watched a bit of Britain's Got Talent tonight (repeat from Saturday) and it reminded me why I don't like watching TV talent shows. (Sorry to any Britain's Got Talent fans out there)

It's embarrassing to see people make a complete fool of themselves. I mean, there is some decent talent on the show. I've watched it before and there's been some good ones, like Diversity for instance. But they never seem to show the good ones. They always show the bad ones. Has anyone else noticed this?

We never get to see the talented auditionees. All they show are the ones who are obviously not talented and you know why. Because it boosts ratings. That's why. The public seem to love watching people embarrass themselves on TV. But not me.

To be honest, I would actually watch one of the many talent shows on TV today if they showed the talented ones and not the rubbish ones.

But hey, that's just me.

Day 18- 80s and 90s Music

As you probably know (if you've read my profile) I absolutely LOVE 80s and 90s music and am actually right now watching the best and biggest 80s and 90s tunes (the music I grew up with in a way) on The Vault music channel.

It's amazing how many songs I recognise and yet forgot about.

There is no doubt that the 80s and 90s had the best music. You might disagree with me (some people say the 70s was the best) but really, your favourite songs and music are half the time in the decade you grew up in.

I was born in 1988, so I grew up in the 90s and some people will say that's why I love 90s music, because it's the music of my childhood. And all of my friends who grew up in that decade say the same thing too, showing perhaps the music you love does depend on the decade you grew up in.

But I think you will agree with me when I say the 80s and 90s really did have the best music. But the 70s and noughties had their highlights too and there are a few songs I love from those decades too.

Day 17- BBC News

So, the news of the day is we have a coalition government and David Cameron's the new Prime Minister. Can't say that I'm surprised somehow. I mean, how long has he been waiting for this?

The only thing I hate about it is all the news channels reporting on it and only on it. I mean, the BBC news channel yesterday went round and round in circles repeating the same story over and over again that David Cameron is the new Prime Minister and Nick Clegg is his deputy.

I should know, as I spent almost half of the day watching it (though I didn't want to). I put it on so I could catch up with the news (and I mean other news, not election news). But what did I get? Yes, news on the new government and only news on the new governement.

Honestly, I got so fed up after only 30 mins of it because it was the same story repeated over and over again and in the end turned it off because it was starting to get annoying.

But that's what happens on the BBC news channel anyway. Even on a normal day they repeat the same stories hour after hour. You really only need to watch the first hour to catch up with the news (or even just the headlines) and that's actually what I do half the time.

But yesterday I actually wanted to hear about what else was going on in the world (not this new coalition government) but did I get any other news stories? No. Even the headlines were only about Cameron and Clegg forming this new colaition government.

I know why it's their lead story and they're able to bring people up-to-date with what's going on with breaking news stories, but do they really need to go on and on about it all day? The answer to this, in my opinon, is simply no!

Day 16- Spirited Away

Anyone who's read my profile will know I love anime films, so it will probably come as no surprise to you that I watched Spirited Away tonight (you know that Oscar winning film about the girl who sees spirits)

And how was it? Well . . . it was absolutely brilliant! I've never seen it before but now I have, I can see just why it won at the Oscars and moved people like no other film could. It took me a while to actually come back down to earth afterwards because I was so caught up in the emotion and the stunning animation.

I've seen many anime films before, like Howl's Moving Castle (which if you haven't seen, you must! It's an amazing film!) But Spirited Away was so different, even though it was made by the same studio. I have to admit it was much better than Howl's Moving Castle (and I never thought I would say that).

Yeah, it was a bit weird and creepy in parts, (a lot weirder than Tim Burton's films) but I think that's what made it so good and enjoyable. It was different to other films; creative and original (this is the film critic side of me talking) and also the title, I think, is brilliant.

All in all, it was the best anime film I have ever seen and I'm definately buying it on DVD to add to my collection.

If you haven't seen it, I recommend you do because it's one of those films that stays with you long after the credits have finished.

Day 15- Glee

Run, Joey Run. Yes I watched Glee tonight and it was soooo much better than last week's episode. Jesse had a much bigger part than before (yay!) and I loved Rachel's video. It was so cool!

It was certainly better than last week's episode and there were actually some recognisable songs in it this time and some dance numbers too (which like I said before makes Glee what it is!)

The whole cast is amazingly talented. Not one of them is a bad singer, dancer or actor. When they were casting, I bet they auditioned so many to find the perfect ones who can sing, act and dance and it paid off, because every single one of them is talented (whether it's in dancing, singing or acting or all three)

Those casting directors did an excellent job if you ask me.

Can't wait until next week's episode now! And I bet you'll be waiting for my review on it. I promise you I won't disappoint!

Sunday 9 May 2010

Day 14- The Simpsons

"Lemonade?"
"Please."

Anyone who watched the Simpsons today will know where this quote comes from. It may not seem funny if you haven't seen the episode, but I was laughing for ages about it when I heard it in the Itchy and Scratchy and Marge episode today. Actually, that whole Itchy and Scratchy episode, where they're sitting on the porch, had me laughing like an idiot right into the next scene.

I don't know why. It's made me laugh many times before (I've seen this episode countless times) but today it just seemed more hilarious than usual and made me laugh my head off. I guess because it's just so out of character for an Itchy and Scratchy cartoon.

The rest of the episode was just as funny though (just not as hilarious as that Itchy and Scratchy sketch). Like I said before, all the old episodes are brilliant and laugh out loud funny. Those were the days when the Simpsons was good and imaginative and clever. Not rubbish like they are now.

It was a great episode and the one after it was good aswell. Another Simspons classic!

But that Itchy and Scratchy sketch. I can't stop laughing whenever I think about it. I really don't know why though. Perhaps I had a bit too much wine tonight at dinner and it made that sketch seem more funny than usual. I don't know. All I know is that it just had me laughing like an idiot.

So, until tomorrow, I'll leave you with another line from that hilarious (or at least what seemed hilarious tonight) Itchy and Scratchy sketch.

"You make good lemonade, Itchy."

Andrea

Saturday 8 May 2010

Day 13- Doctor Who

It's only day 13 of this blog, but it seems like it's been going on forever. And I'm really finding it difficult to watch some decent programmes because, lets be honest, there is simply nothing on TV worth watching these days.

I mean, it's Saturday night and the only decent thing on was Doctor Who (though a few months ago, I wouldn't have even thought about saying this) and even then it wasn't that good. It was meant to be about vampires right? Well then, why wasn't it about vampires and not fish aliens who disguise themselves as the walking undead?

Yes, I know, it's Doctor Who and there always has to be aliens in it! But it seemed really stupid to me. Even the graphics and CGI weren't that brilliant. But then, it's a TV show, not a film. Why am I complaining? It is for kids afterall.

And that's actually another thing. Is it just me who thinks the new episodes of Doctor Who are a little creepy? I mean, last week with the weeping angels . . . that was seriously creepy. Not scary as such, but certainly disturbing. Well, at least I thought so. And even tonight's episode was in a way slightly strange and eerie.

I don't know. I may be alone in thinking this. Perhaps all the other Doctor Who episodes there have been in the past (when David Tennant was the Doctor) were the same. I never watched them, so how would I know?

But, on the upside, next week's episode looks better and yes, I'll be posting about it next Saturday. I can promise you that!

So until tomorrow (let's hope there's something good on). Have a good night.

Andrea

Friday 7 May 2010

Day 12- The Simpsons

It's official. The result of the general election is a hung parliament. Can't say I didn't see it coming. I predicted it in one of my recent posts and it turned out to be right.

Anyway, onto the real topic of the day. I'm glad they're showing old Simpsons on Channel 4 again. Like I said before, the old ones are the best and tonight's one was no exception.

It's amazing that no matter how many times I watch them (I've seen tonight's episode "Like Father Like Clown" . . . I don't know how many times) I always laugh my head off at the jokes and that shows good comedy writing.

And if you ask me, The Simpsons should really go back to what it was.

I hate the new episodes. They've really run out of ideas. I don't know how many times I've watched one of the new episodes and it just seems that either they've used the plot before in another episode or just threw random bits together, hoping it will work out for the best. You'll probably agree with me on this. I can't tell you how many new episodes I've seen that have had poorly scripted jokes and dialogue and nonsensical plot lines.

I hardly laugh once if I watch one of the new ones because the jokes just aren't that funny, compared to the jokes and gags in the older ones. I laugh everytime I watch the old episodes (I could list them but there's far too many and this post would be way too long if I did!) and that to me shows good comedy writing. Unlike the newer ones.

So that's why I'm glad they're showing old episodes again because, as the old saying goes, the old ones are the best! Don't you agree?

Andrea

Thursday 6 May 2010

Day 11- Grease

What is so good about the musical Grease? I watched some of it tonight on Film 4 (not all of it as I've seen it many times before) But what I can't understand is why everyone seems to love it and rate it as a classic. Yes, it is a classic and it's got some good songs in it and dance numbers, but it's just like any other musical. Honestly, there is absolutely nothing special about it, but that doesn't stop people from raving about it and voting it the greatest musical of all time.

Perhaps it's just me, but there are much, much better ones out there like Phantom Of The Opera (one of my all time favourite musicals) Footloose, West Side Story, Fame etc. Yes, I know what you're going to say; that these are all classics too. But then why didn't any of them reach number 1 in the 100 Greatest Musicals on Channel 4 a few years back if they are? Some of them didn't even come in the top 10 and that's unbelievable!

But that's just my opinon. You readers may love it and that's fine with me. Everyone loves different things and has different opinions and I respect that. Grease is just not on my top 10 list of greatest musicals.

Andrea

Wednesday 5 May 2010

Day 10- Three In A Bed

What's up with all these reality TV shows that are very, very similar to Come Dine With Me on Channel 4? I mean I was watching Three In A Bed tonight and all the way through it I kept on thinking how it's sooooo much like Come Dine With Me. It's like Coach Trip; that's the same sort of thing. But none of them will be as good as Come Dine With Me.

Come Dine With Me is brilliant, especially the celebrity specials! But this Three In A Bed (they could have chosen a better title, don't you think?) was actually alright. But not in the slightest bit original and those two women (can't remember their names) that owned that B & B in Great Yarmouth really got on my nerves. They were full of themselves and I hate people like that. And you always seem to get those types in these reality TV shows.

But I think I will stick to watching Come Dine With Me because not only is it better than Three In A Bed, but it's also a hell of a lot more interesting and half the time it's really funny too. If you've never seen it, I seriously suggest you check it out.

Andrea

Monday 3 May 2010

Day 9- Glee

It's Monday night and you know what that means. Yes, it's Glee night! But tonight's episode was disappointing. It wasn't as good as usual. I mean there wasn't one single dance number and that's one of the things I love about Glee!

But the songs were good, even if they weren't that popular or well known. But tonight's episode was a little bit too poignant for me and really just seemed like a filler.

In just one episode it touched on so many poignant subjects which is rare for Glee. I don't remember it ever being so deep and moving since it started.

I was also surprised that Rachel and Jesse StJames didn't have a part in tonight's episode. They were there in the background but never said anything which was quite annoying because usually they have a big part and though I'm not keen on Rachel (sorry to any Rachel lovers out there) I do like Jesse and I wish he had a much bigger part, don't you? I mean his character is such a great one. I hope he gets more screen time in the coming weeks and that there are A LOT more dance numbers with awesome choreography. Don't you agree?

Andrea

Sunday 2 May 2010

Day 8- Click

Isn't Click on the BBC news channel brilliant? I catch it when I can because it's so interesting!

I love seeing all this new technology that's coming out soon. It's amazing how fast technology has come. I mean, just look at what was invented in the last decade. So many gadgets like iPods and iPhones, websites like YouTube and Facebook and Twitter. I can't wait to see what the next ten years are going to be like in terms of technology.

It'll probably be so advanced that it will literally control our lives. I mean, just look at what you can do with the iPhone (the apps you can download for it). You can control your whole life with just a phone. That's unbeliveable! (and laziness if you ask me!) But I have a feeling it's probably foreshadowing what technology's going to be like in the future. I think our whole lives will be be controlled by technology soon.

If you haven't seen it, check it out! It's on the BBC news channel every Saturday and Sunday at around 11:30 in the morning and it's a must see programme for technology lovers!

Andrea

Saturday 1 May 2010

Day 7- Doctor Who

Who else is loving the new Doctor Who? I've never seen it up until two week's ago because I've never really been interested in it. But I'm REALLY into it now. It's surprisingly good and much better than I thought.

Also Matt Smith is great as the new doctor, don't you think? He has some acting talent and he's really made the character his own, instead of copying David Tennant's Doctor. I bet he's surprised he didn't get any hate comments from viewers when he first appeared as the new doctor. All he got was praise and that's rare for someone who's taking over from another actor who the people loved as that character.

And I can't wait to see next Saturday's episode. It's about vampires! Yes! I absolutely love vampires! It should be a good episode. It looks good and I will give you my thoughts on it once I've seen it. Watch this space!

Andrea

Friday 30 April 2010

Day 6- Glee

Watched Glee again tonight! I've watched it ever since it started (every Monday on E4) and it's now the highlight of the week for me!

It's such a brilliant show! And it's getting better and better every week. The songs are great. I really loved the Madonna episode tonight. Especially the Vogue video they recreated with Sue Sylvester. God that was good. It must have taken them days of filming and planning.

In a way, Glee is alot like the 80's hit tv show Fame. It's becoming as big as that was in the 80s but for a new generation and I think that's good. It makes a change for them to grow up with something good and not that High School Musical rubbish which I honestly can't stand!

Andrea

Thursday 29 April 2010

Day 5- Prime Ministerial Debate

Who else watched the election debate tonight? Yes, I know I've told you I'm not interested in politics, but this election is becoming interesting and I thought I would watch the debate tonight to see how Gordon Brown acts after his gaffe yesterday.

But it was extremely interesting. I think Nick Clegg did really well again! He actually answered the questions unlike Brown and Cameron who went off on tangents.

And did anyone else love the way that David Cameron was always ignoring Gordon Brown when it was Brown's turn to answer the question. He didn't look at him once, until about half way through. It seeemed to me like he was uninterested in what Gordon Brown had to say (and to be honest, who wouldn't be?).

And what was with Brown always saying 'It's the same Tory government'? Did anyone else notice that? How in almost all his answers, when he criticised the Tories, he made this comment. What is he trying to prove? Does he actually think that will help and people will vote for him and not the Tories? There's no way Labour are going to win next Thursday. In fact I don't think any of them are going to get a majority. I have a feeling the final result is going to be a hung parliament (though it's not good, I just can't see there being one outright winner).

Oh, and in case your wondering, I won't be voting on Thursday. Why? Well because there's no one I want to vote for really. None of them are any good in my opinion. But hey, don't let that put the rest of you off voting on Thursday.

Andrea

Tuesday 27 April 2010

Day 4- The One Show

Anyone watch The One Show? I only watch it occassionally (actually I think I've only watched it twice) But it watched the first half of it today, only because they were talking about that song I had completely forgotten the title of and have been looking for ever since (Young At Heart by the Bluebells).

If I hadn't watched the election broadcast from the Green Party beforehand, I would have missed it.

And that's another thing. How many more party election broadcasts are there going to be? It was the British National Party yesterday and the Lib Dems last week. Today it was the Green Party. Yeah, like they have a chance of winning. Their party election broadcast was poorly done compared to the British National Party's broadcast. Their's was really well written. But the Green Party's didn't really do anything for me or make me even consider voting for them.

Day 3- Divided

Who likes the gameshow Divided on ITV1? I know I certainly do. It's a brilliant show and really original.

I managed to watch it today (or at least the last 45 minutes of it) and like with all gameshows I watch, if I know the answer and the contestants don't, I'm always shouting it at the screen. Especially when it's a really obvious answer too! Stupid I know because they can't hear me. But it's really hard to just sit there and watch them figure it out when the answer is so obvious.

Eggheads on BBC 2 is another game show I LOVE watching and try my best to catch when it's on and so is Pointless, also on BBC 2. Yes, I'm mad about gameshows. But I doubt I'm the only one.Why do I always watch them? Because I love testing out my general knowledge and seeing how much I know (which sometimes isn't alot) But I did manage to get alot of answers right on Eggheads tonight and I was really pleased with myself. Perhaps I do know more than I think I do.

Day 2- The 6 O'Clock News

What's with the six o'clock news now? All they talk about is elections, elections, elections and for someone who's not particulalry interested in politics, it's boring! Yeah, I know it's an important election this year, but do we really need to hear what Labour, the Tories and the LibDems are doing every day? I don't think so. I don't really want to know what they're doing everyday. We only really need to hear about the most important parts of their campaign and their manifestos.

But unfortunately this is what we'll be hearing about every day right up until the election. And to be honest, I'll be glad when it's finally over and the news goes back to what it was; reporting on stories that matter and which are interesting.

The jokes on The Simpsons tonight had me in stitches! I've seen tonight's episode quite a few times, where Homer becomes a truck driver, but it doesn't matter how many times I watch it. I always laugh my head off sometimes all the way through and couldn't stop laughing at that heimlich manouvre scene where she slips on that piece of meat having just been saved from choking. It was laugh out loud funny! The jokes never get old!

And as a non-lover of politics, I love it when The Simpsons take the mick out of elections and presidents, particularly Bill Clinton, America's ex-president, who appears quite a few times on the show. It shows the creators of the show don't take their politics too seriously, unlike us who hardly make fun of our British goverment in sitcoms or comedies. The only real programme on TV at the moment, that takes the mick out of the Governement, is Have I Got News For You? But I think there should be more programmes, like The Simpsons, who are not afraid to make fun of British politics. Who else agrees with me? We take politics too seriously in this country.

Day 1 Welcome

Welcome to my blog; all about the world of TV and nothing else!

For the next 28 days, I am going to be posting my thoughts on TV programmes I have watched during the day and commenting on whether I enjoyed them or not.

I watch a whole variety of TV shows (or at least try to inbetween doing my assignments and uni work) but I don't end up watching that many. However, for this blog I am going to watch as many programmes as I can so my blog doesn't end up being boring! You don't want to read a boring blog, do you? I mean, who wants to read something like that?

So, I hope you enjoy reading this blog!
